Diversity, Inclusion & Equity: Website
My role in this project began with recommending an audit and overhaul of the website. I worked with colleagues within my office and with campus partners to update the site's content, and created the layouts for all pages within the site.
The end result was a much more cohesive, robust landing page, and a number of informative secondary pages, all created to transparently share updates about their work in this area.
Landing Page
The landing page was updated to include:
hero-image captions, to provide context and avoid misrepresentation
latest progress on the university’s commitments in this area
information about the university’s advocacy centres, which serve students, faculty and staff
quick-links to report bias and/or harassment
resources available to the Lehigh community—social, academic and professional
an interactive image gallery—showing efforts in action
Strategic Plan
Within this site are a series of pages devoted to Lehigh’s strategic plan, which describes the actions that the administration will undertake to advance the university mission through creating a more diverse community in which all feel included, views are freely expressed and all are treated equitably.
Resources and Toolkit
The Resources and Toolkit page was born out of my work on Lehigh’s Council for Equity & Community (CEC.)
The CEC had collected on resources available at various levels of the university—networks, policies, data, training,…—as an internal exercise. I organised the information into this webpage, so it could be consumed easily by visitors.
The Principles of Our Equitable Community
Lehigh’s code of conduct requires all members of the university community to acknowledge and practice a set of basic principles for an equitable community. I proposed adding these Principles to this site, and designed the posters which feature them (which can be downloaded from this page.)
My Role
Site planning (content and structure) and design.
